نظراً لشمول وعمق وأهمية مفهوم البحث والإنقاذ، وتعدد جوانبه وتعقد إجراءاته، وكثرة الأجهزة والسلطات المعنية المشتركة فيه، فقد إعتمد الباحث فى تناول البحث على المنهج الوصفى التحليلى والإسترشاد التاريخى والمنهج الإستقرائى فى إستخدام إستمارات الإستبيان المقدمة للعاملين بمركز بحث وإنقاذ شرم الشيخ، وكذا إستمارات الإستبيان الموزعة على 30 لنش فى منطقة شرم الشيخ، للوقوف على كفاءة الخدمة المقدمة، ومقارنة بين منظومات البحث والإنقاذ فى بعض الدول الأجنبية مثل الدنمارك والنرويج والعربية كالإمارات العربية المتحدة فى تطبيق أسلوب البحث والإنقاذ البحري، كما قام الباحث بزيارة ميدانية لمركزي (البحث والإنقاذ الرئيسى بألماظة والإسعاف البحرى بشرم الشيخ)، ورصد السلبيات الموجودة بهما.
