لا يبعد قصر فونتينبلو الذي يعود تاريخه إلى القرن الثاني عشر سوى أربعة كيلومترات عن مدينة باريس في إحدى الغابات الملكية سابقا ويضم قصر فونتينبلو 1500 غرفة تقدم رؤية للتاريخ الفرنسي الذي وصف بالبذخ في العمارة و الهندسة خاصة في مثل هذه القصور الملكية التي تضم مقتنيات فرنسية أصيلة .

بيعت أغلب مقتنيات القصر لتمويل الثورة الفرنسية بينما تم توزيع باقي التحف على المتاحف وصالات العرض .
