سكايب Skype عبارة عن برنامج تجاري تم ابتكاره من قبل كل من المسثمرين السويدي نيكلاس زينشتروم والدنماركي يانوس فريس مع مجموعة من مطوري البرمجيات. يمكن برنامج سكايب مستخدميه من الاتصال صوتيا (هاتفيا) عبر الانترنت بشكل مجاني بالنسبة لمستخدمي هذا البرنامج، لكن مع تكلفة بسيطة في حال الاتصال بخطوط الهاتف الثابتة أو الجوالة.

اشترتها شركة مايكروسوفت لـ 8.5 مليار دولار في 10 مايو، 2011.[1]
