If department is facing an issue, do not keep quiet in the background and wait for it to solve itself. Think about possible solutions and propose them to the group, stating how you intend to overcome the problem and why you think your suggestion will work. It's better to try and resolve issues , even if your solution does not work, than not take any sort of action. <br>Furthermore self-awareness, this is a skill many people often overlook. Knowing my own capabilities is sometimes difficult, I might lack confidence in my abilities or think I can take on something that turns out to be too much. It's always good to challenge myself and learn new things but know your boundaries to avoid problems later.<br>Also, motivation and enthusiasm, motivating myself and those around you is a great skill to have, and a desirable quality in managers. If I am developing myself professionally, I find I am considered more seriously for higher roles if it's evident you motivate your team. <br>Finally initiative, thinking for myself and confidently making my own decisions shows my take initiative, rather than letting others do half the work for my. Of course, not everyone is in the position to make decisions at work, but if I can try and offer your individual expertise into the process. <br>Developing transferable skills like these will not only come in use when I am growing my career, they'll also be applicable to a role if I decide to start a career in a completely different role.
