كهف سراج الليل في نيوزيلندا ( Waitomo Glowworm ) الكهف العجيب

الأضواء هي بيوض نوع من الديدان تسمى ( Arachnocampa luminosa ) .
كهف سراج الليل أو كما يسمي ( The Waitomo Glowworm Cave ) تخيل ان تقف بداخل كهف وترى الأضواء طبيعية فيه ! لا تعقتد إنه ضوء القمر أو حتى أضاءة من قبل مشرفي الكهف ! إنها اضاءة فريدة من نوعها .
ويقع هذا الكهف خارج مدينة يتومو ( Waitomo ) وبالتحديد على الجزيرة الشمالية من نيوزيلاندا ويُعد هذا الكهف واحد من أحد أهم أماكن الجذب السياحي لتلك البلدة. فعندما تدخل الكهف في الليل تبدو لك الكثير من الأضواء بأشكال مختلفة باللون الأزرق المائل إلى الخضرة .

وإن السبب في تلك الأضواء شئ إضاءة حيوية نتتج من ديدان صغيرة ذات طابع خاص وهي لا تعيش إلا في نيوزيلاندا فقط !

ولهذا الضوء وهذه الديدان قصة عجيبة وطريفة، لأن هذا الضوء الساحر هو وسيلة القتل! حيث تطير الأنثى لوضع البيض على سقف الكهف المظلم، وبمجرد فقس البيض فان اليرقات الفاقسة تتعلق لأسفل بواسطة خيط لاصق ينتج ضوءاً واضحاً في الظلام.

يقوم هذا الضوء بجذب حشرات من أنواع أخرى، لتدخل إلى داخل الخيط اللاصق فيتم افتراسها بواسطة يرقات الدودة المضيئة!!! وكما يقال فليس كل ما يلمع ذهبا، وهو ماينطبق على هذا الضوء الذي يبهر الحشرات ، ولكنه في واقع الأمر أشبه بمقبرتها.

تم إكتشاف هذا الكهف لأول مرة عام 1887 عن طريق العمدة المحلي يدعى تين تينوراو
