تــم انشأ المـركـــز بموجب عقـد مبرم مع الجيش الأمريكي فـي العــام ( 1407هـ ) وتـم دعمــه بالأجهــــزة المرجعيـــة والكـــادر الفنـــي وبعــــدد ( 7 ) مختبرات وهـــي عبارة عــــن (شاحنة لوري 5 طن قابلة للتمدد) تــم توزيعها عـلى صيانة القاعدة لمسانـدة المـركـز فـي تنفيذ برنامج المعايرة والإصلاح لوحدات القوات البرية في المناطق التابعة لها.
