تأثير الألوان على الحيوان امر لاشك فيه، ومن التجارب التي اجريت في هذا الشأن تلك التي قام بها العالم السوفيتي «بافلوف» الاخصائي في علم وظائف الاعضاء، فقد احضر كلبا وكان يقدم له كل يوم وجبة، ثم يلوح له بخرقة حمراء، وبعد عدة ايام بدأ يلوح للكلب بالخرقة الحمراء دون طعام واذا بالكلب يثور باحثا عن الطعام. وهناك تجارب اخرى من نتائجها.
1- ان الدجاج اذا تعرض لضوء صناعي ملون فانه يبيض بسرعة اكثر من سرعته المعتادة.
2- ان الحشرات القارضة تحب الالوان الحمراء والصفراء وتهرب من اللون الازرق والاخضر.
3- الفراشات تحب بوجه خاص الالوان الزرقاء والخضراء والبنفسجية.
4- الذباب يحب جميع الالوان ما عدا اللون الازرق فانه ينفر منه.
ويلاحظ سكان الريف ان الثيران تثور وتهيج اذا مر امامها رجل يلبس ثوبا احمر او معه خرقة حمراء.
