بدأ مصرف الراجحي، أحد أكبر المصارف الإسلامية في العالم، نشاطه عام 1957. يتمتع مصرف الراجحي أكثر من 50 عاماً خبرة في الأنشطة المصرفية والتجارية. كان افتتاح أول فرع لمصرف للرجال في منطقة ديرة في الرياض في عام 1957، في حين فتح فرع السيدات الأول في عام 1979 في حي شومايسي.
لقد شهد العام 1978، دمج مختلف المؤسسات التي تحمل اسم الراجحي تحت مظلة واحدة في شركة الراجحي المصرفية والتجارية في عام 1988 تم تحويل المصرف إلى شركة مساهمة سعودية عامه. وبما ان المصرف يرتكز الى مبادئ المصرفيه الإسلامية بشكل أساسي، فإنه يلعب دوراً رئيسيا وأساسياً في سد الفجوة بين المطالب المالية الحديثة والقيم الجوهرية للشريعة الإسلامية، مشكلا معايير صناعيه وتنميه يحتذى بها .
