مبادئ حماية خصوصية المعلومات الشخصية
تنطبق المبادئ التالية عندما تقوم إحدى الوكالات الحكومية بجمع معلومات شخصية عن فرد ما:
1- يجب ألا تقوم الوكالة بجمع معلومات شخصية لإدخالها فى سجلات حكومية إلا إذا:
أ) كان جمع المعلومات لغرض يتصل مباشرة بإحدى وظائف تلك الوكالة،
ب) وكان جمع المعلومات ضروريا لذلك الغرض.
2- يجب عدم جمع المعلومات بطرق غير قانونية أو غير عادلة.
3-يجب على الوكالة أن تتخذ خطوات معقولة كى تضمن، قبل جمع المعلومات،أن الفرد المعنى يعرف:
أ) الغرض الذى ستسُتخدم المعلومات لأجله،
ب) والوكالات الأخرى التى تقوم الوكالة "الجامعة" عادة بنقل المعلومات إليها.
4- يجب ألا تتدخل عملية جمع المعلومات بصورة غير معقولة فى الشؤون الشخصية للفرد المعنى.
5- يجب على الوكالات التى تحتفظ بمعلومات شخصية أن تضمن حماية المعلومات من الضياع، ومن استخدامها أو الإفصاح عنها بدون تصريح.
