نشاة مدينة روما : ليست هناك رواية معتمدة خالية من الشك حول نشأة مدينة روما فنشأة هذه المدينة مسألة يحيط بها الشك والغموض من كل جانب, وعلى اية حال وبعيدا عن مجال الأساطير فمن المرجح تاريخيا ان الشعوب التي تكونت منها مدينة روما كانت تقطن تلال اللاتيوم في حوالي القرن الثاني عشر ق . م في منطقة خصبة تتميز بترتبها البركانية التي كانت مصدر سعادة وخطر لهم .
وقد تعرضت روما للغزو أكثر من مرة ولكنها ظلت صامدة ومع القرن السابع الميلادي وصل مجتمع روما إلى درجة من الاستقرار مما دفع المؤرخين إلى الاعتقاد بأن مدينة روما قد أنشأت في هذا التاريخ .
