يعد الالتهاب المفصلي العظمي النوع الأكثر شيوعا من التهاب المفاصل والسبب الرئيسي للعجز. تهدف الدراسة الى قياس التكرار النسبي للآلام العصبية فى المرضى الذين يعانون من الالتهاب المفصلي العظمي بالركبة لتحسين التشخيص و العلاج .تم إجراء الدراسة على مائة و عشرة حالة مرضية من المترددين على العيادة الخارجية لقسم الروماتيزم والتأهيل بمستشفى جامعة قناة السويس والمستشفى العام بالإسماعيلية من خلال اخذ تاريخ مرضي كامل، فحص إكلينيكي شامل واشعة اكس على الركبة وملأ المرضى لاستمارات الآلام العصبية للالتهاب المفصلي العظمي بالركبة . وقد وجد ان هذا الألم الناشىء عن اعتلال الاعصاب في الركبه مرتبط بالسن و درجة تقدم الالتهاب المفصلي العظمي في الركبة في الأشعة السينية ومرتبط بشدة الألم وأن اعتلال الأعصاب يسهم في تجربة الالم في 15.5% من المصابين . لذلك، نوصي باضافة الأدوية التي تستهدف الألم الناتج عن الأعصاب.
