شركة مسقط للمقاصة والإيداع (ش.م.ع.م) هي شركة مساهمة عمانية مقفلة تأسست وفقا للمرسوم السلطاني رقم (82/98) الصادر بتاريخ 25 نوفمبر 1998 والقاضي بتأسيس شركة مسقط للإيداع وتسجيل الأوراق المالية وتحديد أعمالها واختصاصاتها، وبدأت عملياتها الفعلية في 1 فبراير 1999م، ويبلغ رأسمال الشركة المصدر ثلاثة ملايين ريال عماني، ويمتلك سوق مسقط للأوراق المالية 60% من رأسمال الشركة كما تمتلك البنوك وشركات الوساطة والاستثمار 40% من رأس المال.
تخضع العلاقة بين الشركة والهيئة العامة لسوق المال لعقد إمتياز حددت فيه مهام الشركة وانشطتها ورخص للشركة تقديم الخدمات التالية:
• حفظ سجلات المساهمين في الشركات المساهمة المسجلة وصناديق الاستثمار وحملة السندات والأوراق المالية الأخرى الصادرة عن تلك الشركات أوالتي تصدرها الحكومة والهيئات العامة والمدرجة في سوق مسقط للأوراق المالية.
• إيداع وتسجيل وحفظ عقود بيع وشراء الأسهم والسندات والأوراق المالية الأخرى فيما بين المساهمين وحملة الأوراق المالية وإصدارشهادات نقل الملكية فيما بين المساهمين وإجراءات توقيع الحجز والرهن على الأوراق المالية ورفعها.
• تزويد الجهات المعنية بمعلومات عن المساهمين أو حملة الأوراق المالية.
• كل ما يتعلق بشؤون المساهمين وحملة الأوراق المالية.
• أية أنشطة أخرى يوافق عليها مجلس إدارة الهيئة.
