هناك طريقتين في عرض العمليات التشغيلية :  الطريقة المباشرة: تعرض الطريقة المباشرة البنود الرئيسية للمبالغ المحصلة والمدفوعة. الطريقة الغير مباشرة: يتم تعديل صافي الربح في العمليات التي لا تتطلب نفقات نقدية.
