العامل الأجنبي هو المقيم الأجنبي في الإمارات الذي تكون فئة نوع كفيله إما الحكومة أو المنطقة الحرة أو الشركات العامة-الخاصة أو القطاع الخاص أو العمالة المنزلية.
المعالون الأجانب هم الأفراد الذين يتم تعريفهم كتابعين أو مرافقين عند تحديد نوع الكفيل في قاعدة بيانات وزارة الداخلية.
