معرفة خصائص معلمات رياض الأطفال مهمة للغاية حيث أننا كمجتمع نحتاج أن نعرف مؤهلات وسمات من ستعهد إليهن تنمية أغلى مصادرنا الطبيعية وهم "أطفالنا." ولا شك أن المعلمة التي يتم تكوينها تكوينا علمياً وتربوياً لأداء هذه المهمة الصعبة أقدر وأكفأ على أداء عملها وتحقيق الأهداف التربوية المطلوبة منها، ولكي تقوم المعلمة بدورها هذا لابد أن تتوافر لديها مجموعة الخصائص والسمات الجسمية والانفعالية والعقلية والاجتماعية والخلقية والمهنية.


يتطلب توافر مجموعة من السمات والخصائص الجسمية في معلمات رياض الأطفال، نذكر منها:

1- أن تكون صحيحة الجسم ولائقة طبياً مبرأة من العيوب والأمراض التي تحول دون الأداء الجيد لرسالتها، مثل: الضعف الشديد في الإبصار، أو شلل اليدين، أو ضعف السمع الشديد، أو عيوب النطق كالثأثأة وغيرها.

2- أن تتوافر فيها الحيوية والنشاط حتى لا تشعر بالتعب المستمر والإجهاد بعد كل عمل بسيط تقوم به، مما يقلل من حماس الأطفال وفاعليتهم في الأنشطة المختلفة، بمعنى أن تتمتع باللياقة البدنية حيث يتوقع الأطفال منها أن تشاركهم لعبهم ونشاطهم حيث يسعدهم ذلك كثيراً.

3- أن تستخدم أيضاً - أثناء أدائها لوظيفتها داخل الفصل بشكل متكرر - الوقوف واستخدام يديها وأصابعها، والاستخدام المناسب للأدوات، والتحدث والاستماع والتذوق والشم والمشي والاستكانة والركوع والانحناء والزحف أحياناً، كما يتطلب منها أيضاً الجلوس والشرح بيديها وذراعيها، وتسلق شيء أو التوازن أو رفع وإبعاد الأشياء الثقيلة، ويتطلب منها كذلك قدرة إبصار معينة مشتملة على الرؤية عن قرب وعن بُعد ورؤية الألوان السطحية وإدراك العمق والقدرة على تركيز النظر.

4- ومن الخصائص الجسمية الهامة التي يجب أن تتمتع بها معلمة رياض الأطفال ظهورها بمظهر مرتب ومنظم وجذاب يسر الأطفال، كما أن العادات الصحية النافعة من شأنها أن تنشئ جسماً صحياً وتجعله لائقاً للعمل، بل تعطيه القدرة على المرونة والتشكل لمواجهة متطلبات الحياة المتغيرة.

إن الخصائص والسمات الانفعالية التي تتحلى بها معلمة رياض الأطفال ذات أهمية كبيرة في ممارستها التربوية مع الأطفال، لما يكون لها من انعكاس واضح على تصرفات الأطفال في هذه المرحلة الهامة، وعلى عواطفهم، ومشاعرهم، وقيمهم. ومن الخصائص الانفعالية التي يجب أن تتحلى بها المعلمة ما يلي:

1- أن تتمتع معلمة رياض الأطفال بدرجة عالية من الاتزان الانفعالي حتى تستطيع أن تحقق لنفسها التوافق النفسي فتأتى تصرفاتها طبيعية لا تصنع فيها ولا تكلف، وعندها تكون قادرة على إشباع حاجات الأطفال العاطفية ومساعدتهم على التعبير السوي عن انفعالاتهم كما يجب أن تتسم بقدرتها على مواجهة الضغوط النفسية والأعباء الزائدة والتي تنشأ من عدة مصادر منها: مشاكل الأطفال المتعددة وعدم تعاونهم معها وعدوانية بعضهم واهتمام أولياء الأمور بتعليم الأطفال القراءة والكتابة قبل الاستعداد لها، لذلك عليها الاتصاف بضبط انفعالاتها.

2- أن تكون محبة للأطفال قادرة على العمل معهم بروح العطف والصبر. إذ أن المعلمة التي تمل بسرعة وتفقد صبرها لأقل الأسباب لا يمكنها أن تتحمل عبء العمل مع عدد كبير من الأطفال في مرحلة حساسة من نموهم يوماً بعد يوم، وسنة بعد أخرى. 3- أن تتمتع بالثقة ولديها مفهوم إيجابي عن نفسها تشعر معه بأنها موضع احترام الأطفال ومحبتهم، ولا يكون ذلك إلا من خلال حُسن تعاملها معهم. فالأطفال يحكمون على الكبار خاصة المعلمات من خلال ما يفعلون لا ما يقولون.

4- أن تُقبل على عملها مع الأطفال بحماس وإخلاص وتجد فيه تحقيقاً لذاتها وتتمتع بقدر من المرح وروح الدعابة والمرونة حتى تكون قادرة على مواجهة متطلبات العمل والمشكلات التي قد تعترضها في الروضة، كما أن المعلمة الجيدة هي شخصية ودودة يمكن التحدث إليها حيث تستمع بشكل جيد وتعطى للأطفال دعماً دافئاً حنوناً وقت الحاجة، وتضحك مع الأطفال دونما سخرية منهم، كما أنها تدرك جيداً أهمية الأمن العاطفي والجسمي لكل طفل، وتهتم بخلق بيئة مناسبة للتعلم.

5- ألا تكون قاسية في تهذيبها لسلوك الأطفال وأن تحسن إثابة الطفل ومدحه على ما يأتي من أفعال حسنة.

6- أن تسترشد باستجابات الأطفال وتتخذ من ردود أفعالهم دلائل تساعدها على إقامة علاقات جيدة.

7- أن تكون المعلمة عادلة وثابتة على مبدأ واحد في تعاملاتها مع الأطفال فلا يجب أن تكون هناك مجموعة من القواعد تُطبَق على البعض ومجموعة قواعد أخرى تُطبَق على البعض الآخر.

8- أن تكون أكثر حرية في تنمية صلتها بالأطفال وعلاقتها معهم بكل رقة ولطف.

9- أن يكون لدى معلمة رياض الأطفال توافق نفسي، بمعنى أن يكون لديها شعور بالرضا عن هذه المهنة والاعتزاز بها، كما تتقبل نظام العمل بالروضة وتستفيد من الإمكانات المتاحة في إنجاز عملها بكفاءة، وتحافظ على علاقاتها الطيبة بأطفالها وزميلاتها ورؤسائها في العمل.

10- أن تقوم العلاقة بين المعلمة والأطفال على أساس من المحبة بحيث تدفعها تلك الرابطة إلى حماية أطفالها من رفقاء السوء، ومراعاتها لعدم إثارة انفعالات الغيرة فيهم والابتعاد عن الاستهزاء بهم أو لومهم وتوبيخهم أمام الغير.

11- تتقبل المعلمة الوالدين، وتتفهم احتياجاتهما، وتعرف أهدافهما، وحرصها على مصلحته وتربيته، فمهمة الوالدين شاقة في هذه الأيام ومعقدة وتتطلب الكثير، مما يجعل المعلمة تشعر بثقل مهمتهما وخطورتها، كما يجعل الوالدين يقدران هذا الشعور والفهم، مما يشجعهما على معالجة مشاكلهما بكل جرأة، ودون خوف من أن يُتهما بالعجز، أو يُلاما على التقصير، وهذا الفهم المشترك له أثره الفعال في إرساء قواعد متينة لإقامة علاقة طيبة بين كل من الآباء والمعلمات، وأخيرا فإن اتصالها الدائم بأسرة الطفل وإقامة علاقات صداقة معهم يساعد في تحقيق الأهداف التربوية المرجوة من رياض الأطفال.

كذلك يجب أن تتميز المعلمة في الرياض بمجموعة من الخصائص والسمات العقلية، نذكر منها:

1- أن تكون على قدر من الذكاء يساعدها على التصرف الحكيم وحل المشكلات التي تصادفها في المواقف التعليمية المختلفة ويتضمن ذلك الفهم وإدراك الحقائق والعلاقات بين الأشياء والأفكار وتطبيق المعلومات النظرية على مشكلات الحياة الواقعية ثم تحليل المواقف وعناصر القضايا والمشكلات، وتصل بالطفل أخيراً إلى مرحلة التركيب أي جمع العناصر والأجزاء المؤلفة لموقف ما في بناء كلى. كما يُتوقع من معلمة رياض الأطفال أن تكون سريعة ا
