هناك العديد من المزايا المتعلقة بالاستثمار فى السندات سواء للمستثمر الفرد، أو للاقتصاد القومى، أو للشركة المصدرة لها. حيث تعتبر السندات أحد مصادر التمويل الملائمة للحكومة، كما أنها تعد من مصادر التمويل منخفضة التكلفة بالنسبة للشركات، وتعطى للشركة المصدرة ميزة ضريبية حيث يخصم عائد السندات من الوعاء الضريبى للشركة، وأيضاً لا تؤدى السندات لفقدان المساهمين الحاليين السيطرة على إدارة الشركة، لأن حملة السندات ليس لهم حق التصويت فى الجمعية العمومية.

ومن حيث المزايا للمستثمر، نجد أن السندات أداة مالية معفاة من الضرائب، كما أن لأصحاب السندات الأولوية على حملة الأسهم عند اقتسام أصول الشركة فى حالة التصفية.
