تقع سلطنة عمان في أقصى الجنوب الشرق

تقع سلطنة عمان في أقصى الجنوب الشرقي لشبه الجزيرة العربية وتمتد بين خطي عرض (16,40) و (26,20) درجة شمالاً وبين العربية وتمتد بين خطي طول (51,50) و (40 ,59) شرقاً، وتطل على ساحل يتمد أكثر من (1700) كيلو متر يبدأ من أقصى الجنوب الشرقي حيث بحر العرب ومدخل المحيط الهندي، ممتداً الى خليج عمان حتى ينتهي عند مسندم شمالاً, ليطل على مضيق هرمز مدخل الخليج العربي، ومن هذا الموقع تسيطر سلطنة عمان على أقدم وأهم الطرق التجارية البحرية في العالم وهو الطريق البحري بين الخليج العربي والمحيط الهندي ومن هذا الموقع اتصلت طرق القوافل عبر شبه الجزيرة العربية لتربط ما بين غربها وشرقها وشمالها وجنوبها .
وترتبط حدود عمان مع جمهورية اليمن من الجنوب العربي ومع المملكة العربية السعودية غرباً، ودولة الإمارات العربية والمتحدة شمالاً .
