الحالة الزواجية
تم تعريف الحالة الزواجية للعاملين الأجانب باستخدام متغيرين اثنين حسب قاعدة بيانات وزارة الداخلية وهما: الحالة الزواجية، وعدد المعالين.
إذا كان الشخص متزوج وليس لديه معالين يتم تعريفه «متزوجون بدون معالين»، أما إذا كانت الحالة الزواجية حالة أخرى (غير متزوج، أرمل، مطلق) وبدون معالين يتم تعريفه «غير متزوجين بدون معالين». أما إذا كان لدى الشخص معالين فيتم تعريفهم حسب الحالة الزواجية إما «متزوجون مع معالين» أو «غير متزوجين مع معالين».
إذا كانت الحالة الزواجية غير معروفة أو غير مسجلة في قاعدة البيانات فقد تم استثناء هذه الحالات.حجم الأسرة
هو عدد الأفراد بالأسرة من إجمالي عدد أسر العاملين الأجانب المقيمين في الدولة في سنة ما، وقد تم احتساب حجم الأسرة في هذه الدراسة بحيث يشتمل على العامل والمعالين لديه (والذين قد يتضمنون الوالدين، الأزواج، الأبناء، الأقارب من الدرجة الأولى، وفي حالات نادرة قد يتضمن الأقارب من الدرجة الثانية).
تم تقسيم الأسر إلى ثلاث فئات حسب الحجم:
• أسر تتكون من 2-3 أفراد: أسرة تتكون من عامل ومعال أو معالين اثنين.
• أسر تتكون من 4-5 أفراد: أسرة تتكون من عامل وثلاث إلى أربع معالين.
• أسر تتكون من 6 أفراد أو أكثر: أسرة تتكون من عامل وخمسة معالين أو أكثر.
