يجب التعرف والالمام والتقيد التام بالقوانين واللوائح البيئية بالسلطنة قبل الشروع في تنفيذ المشاريع مع التعهد بالالتزام الكامل بتلك القوانين واللوائح في جميع مراحل المشروع (البناء - التشغيل - الاغلاق) ، ومنها قانون حماية البيئة ومكافحة التلوث الصادر بالمرسوم السلطاني رقم (114/2001) واللوائح التنفيذية الخاصة به والتي من ضمنها ما يلي :
أ - اللائحة الخاصة بادارة المخلفات الصلبة غير الخطرة الصادرة بالقرار الوزاري رقم (17/93) .
ب ـ اللائحة الخاصة بادارة المخلفات الخطرة الصادرة بالقرار الوزاري رقم (18/93) .
ج ـ لائحة التحكم في ملوثات الهواء المنبعية من مصار ثابتة الصادرة بالقرار الوزاري رقمم (118/2004) .
