٣- ‏ارتفاع معدل نمو السكان خلال فترة السبعينات والثمانينات مما أدى الى ظهور عدد من الشباب الذين يبحثون عن العمل بحيث بلغ معدل نمو القوة العاملة ٣,٣٪‏ في السنة.

٨- سيادة بعض القيم والتقاليد الاجتماعية التي تؤثر في اتساع ظاهرة البطالة وخاصة في المجتمعات الغنية والطبقات الاستقراطية التي تحتقر العمل وتؤثر ان يشب ابنائهم متسكعين وعاطلين عن العمل بدلا من ان يعملوا بايديهم.ناهيك عن النظرة المتعصبة لعمل المراة العربية في بعض المجتمعات المتخلفة من منعها من ممارسة حقها في العمل.

١٢- ‏إن كثيرا من البلدان العربية لا تضع التعليم احتياجات السوق العمل ضمن علاقة ارتباط ملائمة .وهناك الكثير من المؤشرات التي توضح أن المردود الاجتماعي والاقتصادي للتعليم منخفض جدا في ‏البلدان العربية وبشكل خاص بالنسبة للأسرة فقيرة . ‏وقد أظهرت دراسة في مصر أن معدلات البطالة تصل إلى أعلى درجة من الحاصلين على شهادات الثانوية ،ويليهم الحاصلون على شهادات جامعية بينماتبلغ أدناها بين غير المتعلمين و الحاصلين على شهادات عليا
