تهدف إلى الدراسة إلى التعرف على واقع تطبيق سياسات تنمية المجموعات في المكتبات الجامعية الحكومية بمنطقة الرياض.
وقد أستخدم الباحث المنهج الوصفي المسحي لوصف الوضع القائم للظاهرة في المكتبات الجامعية موضوع الدراسة , مع الاستعانة في جمع البيانات على , قائمة المراجعة, والمقابلات الشخصية.
وقد توصلت الدراسة إلى مجموعة من النتائج , أبرزها ما يلي:
1- توصلت الدراسة أن المكتبات التي لديها سياسة لتنمية المجموعات من الإجمالي هي مكتبتين فقط , مكتبة جامعة المجمعة , ومكتبة جامعة الأميرة نورة بنسبة 33.3%.
2- توصلت الدراسة ان المكتبات التي ليس لديها سياسة لتنمية المجموعات , وضعت ارشادات وتوجيهات شفهيه بنسبة 66.6%.
3- توصلت الدراسة أن نصف المكتبات مجتمع الدراسة أن هناك معوقات تحول دون وضع سياسات لتنمية المجموعات بها بنسبة 50%.
4- توصلت الدراسة أن المكتبات مجتمع الدراسة التي لايوجد فيها سياسات لتنمية المجموعات , تتم فيها تنمية المجموعات على اساس خبرة موظفي أقسام تنمية المجموعات , والاستعانة بأعضاء هيئة التدريس بنسبة 66.6%.
5- توصلت الدراسة أن مكتبات مجتمع الدراسة التي لديها سياسة لتنمية المجموعات, تشمل مقدمة السياسه على وصف عام وموجز للمجتمع المستفيد بنسبة 100%.
6- توصلت الدراسة إلى أن اشكال المقتنيات المنصوص عليها في سياسة تنمية المجموعات كانت مطبوعة في جميع مكتبات مجتمع الدراسة والتي لديها سياسة لتنمية المجموعات بنسبة 100% , ونصت على اشكال المقتنيات إلكترونية بنسبة 50%.
7- جميع مكتبات مجتمع الدراسة التي لديها سياسة لتنمية المجموعات , نصت سياسة لتنمية على دعم البرامج الدراسية وتلبية احتياجات المستفيدين بنسبة 100%.
8- أن مكتبات مجتمع الدراسة التي لديها سياسة لتنمية المجموعات , حددت سياسة تنمية المجموعات المسؤولية الإدارية لوضع السياسة ومتابعة تنفيذها بنسبة 100%.
9- توصلت الدراسة ان المكتبات مجتمع الدراسة التي لديها سياسة لتنمية المجموعات تضمنت معايير الاختيار وأسسه بنسبة 50%.
10- توصلت الدراسة ان المكتبات مجتمع الدراسة التي لديها سياسة لتنمية المجموعات لم تضع معاييراً خاصة باختيار المصادر الالكترونية بنسبة 100%.
11- توصلت الدراسة إلى أن جميع مكتبات مجتمع الدراسة لا يتم فيها حوسبة عمليات تنمية المجموعات بنسبة 100%.
12- توصلت الدراسة إلى أن هناك مشاكل ومعوقات تواجه سياسة تنمية المجموعات في التي لديها سياسة لتنمية المجموعات بنسبة 100%.
