تتم مراجعة وتحديث استراتيجية المجلس والسياسات الداعمة له بانتظام للتأكد من ملائمتها وفعاليتها، كما يتم تطبيق آلية تطوير السياسات الداعمة لتحقيق الخطة الاستراتيجية بناء على المعايير المعتمدة وذلك بالرجوع إلى دليل وضع السياسات الصادر من مكتب رئاسة مجلس الوزراء ، ويعمل المجلس على متابعة تنفيذ السياسات وتقييم جودتها وفعاليتها
