Summary of the studyThis study seeks to examine the impact of the PMA help in curbing the phenomenon of returned cheques, as well as to test the relationship between economic activity and the scale of this phenomenon. The study relies primarily on instructions and procedures issued by the Palestinian Monetary Authority regarding returned cheques, as well as study data presented for clearing checks and all currencies bounced on a monthly basis during the period (1996-2014). To reach the goal; the study methodology use multiple linear regression. As the application form where a cheque number and total value of cheques presented for clearing of all currencies in dollar terms, at the level of each work as a dependent variable, and the growth rate in GDP and the phantom takes the variable values (0, 1) according to instructions issued by the Palestinian Monetary Authority as independent variables. The study found a significant impact and statistically for the PMA help in reducing cheque number and value, in addition to having a significant effect, statistically significant between growth in GDP and the ratio of returned cheques in number and value. And at the end of the study included a series of recommendations that may help reduce the spread of this phenomenon.
