وفي وسط البلاد، المناخ قاري، شتاء بارد وصيف شديد الحرارة والجفاف (48 درجة مئوية في الرياض ورطوبة نسبية لا تتعدى 9% في تموز)، أما المناطق الساحلية فشتاؤها دافئ وصيفها يتميز بشدة الحرارة والرطوبة. اما في مرتفعات عسير تمتاز بجو معتدل في الصيف وبارد في الشتاء وأجواء مصحوبة بالضباب، مع أمطار موسمية طيلة الأشهر الصيفية. أما باقي البلاد فتسقط فيها الأمطار بشكل متفاوت بين العام والآخر في أشهر الشتاء وأوائل الربيع بفعل الرياح العكسية.
