- الحرص على زراعة ما حوله من فراغات بالزهور وغيرها، وتزيين منزله وما حوله بالأشجار والنباتات، وتعليم الأبناء المحافظة على الأشجار والزهور والنباتات الموجودة في الأماكن العامة والخاصة، مع توعيتهم بأهمية زراعتها في حديقة المنزل أو داخله؛ ليتذوقوا الجمال ويحرصوا عليه.
- التخلص من القمامة بطريقة سليمة؛ لمنع انتشار الأمراض، ونقل العدوى، فلا يجب وضعها أمام المنزل أو خلفه، حتى لا تكون عرضة للعبث فتتناثر بصورة تتجمع عليها الحشرات، فتشوه صورة البيت وتضر أهله، وكذلك الحرص على عدم إلقائها من الشرفات والنوافذ. بل وضعها في حاويات مغطاة وإخراجها في المكان المخصص لها في مواعيدها.
- التخلص من المخلفات الصلبة؛ كالأوراق، والصناديق، وقطع القماش القديمة، والزجاجات الفارغة، والعلب المعدنية، وبقايا الطعام التي أصبحت من أهم مصادر التلوث؛ لأن تراكمها وتجمع المياه حولها يجعلها مرتعًا للحشرات والميكروبات ومصدرًا للرائحة الكريهة.
- الحرص في التعامل مع المياه، وعدم الإسراف في استخدامها، وكذلك عدم تلويثها بإلقاء القاذورات فيها.
- الحذر عند استعمال المنظفات الكيماوية، والمواد السامة، والتقليل منها ما أمكن، لأنها تؤثر على طبقة الأوزون، التي تحمي الأرض من أشعة الشمس الحارقة، والأشعة الأخرى الضارة.
- استخدام المرشحات التي تقي البيئة من العوادم الناجمة عن استخدام الوقود وغير ذلك، وكذلك استخدامها في الأجهزة المنزلية التي يترتب عليها ظهور عوادم ضارة كمدخنة المطبخ وغيرها.
- نشر الوعي البيئي بين الأبناء، لتوسيع آفاقهم ومداركهم حول حب العالم والكون بما فيه، ومن فيه، وكذلك نشر هذا الوعي بين الجيران والأقارب وتوجيه النصح والإرشاد لهم، والتعاون على مواجهة هذا الخطر، لما فيه صالح الفرد، والمجتمع، بل والعالم أجمع.
