إن مصر حالياً تواجه مرحلة شديدة من الحساسية ومشكلات وقضايا حادة في الخطورة تهدد الأمن في الوقت الحاضر وتمتد تلك الخطورة إلىالأمن في المستقبل فواقع المجتمع المصري يشهد حالياً متغيرات سلوكية واجتماعية وثقافية وأمنية وكل هذا يحدث في المجتمع المصري وهذا يدل على أن المجتمع المصري يتعايش مع تلك المشكلات وفي نفس الوقت يعاني ليس من الآن بل يعاني منذ القدم من المشكلات الاجتماعية التقليدية والتي من أهمها مشكلة البطالة والمشاكل السكانية والفقر والذي نتج من تلك المشكلات تداعيات أخرى مثل أسرية وسلوكية وأمنية وصحية وهنا يأتي واقع دور مهنة الخدمة الاجتماعية في المجتمع المصري وهي تكون في المقام الأول كمهنة إنسانية تعني أنها تقوم بدور توفير الأمن والرفاهية للإنسان وهذه تكون بمثابة قيمة أخلاقية مطلقة فهذه الخدمة الاجتماعية في المجتمع المصري تتميز في الواقع أنها تمنح المساعدة للناس بلا مقابل وكما أنها تبذل جهدها لتعطي ما للإنسان ما يحتاجه دون أن تنتظر الأجر وهذا يعني أنها تطمح وتهدف إلى إسعاد الإنسان أينما كان وأينما يكون أيضا وكما أن هذه المهنة تشكل الشفافية والصدق ومن خلال كل ذلك يتضح لنا أن مهنة الخدمة الاجتماعية أصبح بنائها متكامل من النواحي العلمية والتنظيمية والتشريعية أيضا وهذا من اجل أن تفرض وجودها أمام المجتمع المصري كمهنة استقر بها البنية التعليمية من اجل الإعداد المهني وأصبحت لها لوائح ونظم خاصة بها عند اختيار الطلبة والطالبات الصالحين والقادرين على ممارسة المهنة ويكون ذلك عن طريق المناهج المتكاملة ومقررات من المفترض أن تكون من المجتمع المصري وليست من دولة أخرى لان كما ذكرنا سابقاً أن عند أخذ المقررات من الدول الأخرى سوف تكون الثقافة مختلفة عن المجتمع نفسه والذي يقصد به المجتمع المصري عكس إذا كانت تلك المقررات مأخوذة وصادرة من الدولة نفسها والتي يقصد بها مصر بشرط أن يكون مشتقاً من مرجعيات علمية لها أصالتها وأخيراً من اجل القيام بتحديث المجتمع المصري لابد أن يبدأ بكيفية تقديم المواجهة الفعالة وخاصة في المشكلات السكانية والبطالة والفقر والعنوسة والمشكلات السلوكية التي تقف أمام أو بالأحرى تعوق التنمية البشرية ومن هنا يبدأ دور الخدمة الاجتماعية بالمساهمة بتحقيق أهدافها والتي منها المواجهة الفعالة للتهديدات الخانقة التي تهدد أمن المواطن المصري ويكون ذلك ليس بالحالي فقط بل بالوقت الحالي والمستقبل أيضا وكما أنها تسعى لإيجاد الحلول للمشكلات التي تواجهها سواء كانت مشكلات سكانية و سلوكية و سكانية و مشكلة الفقر والعنوسة وغيرها من المشكلات وهذا كان مخلص لواقع مهنة الخدمة الاجتماعية في المجتمع المصري .
