بموجب المرسوم السلطاني رقم 17/2013 المادة رقم ..... والخاص بقانون القياس والمعايرة والتي تخول للمديرية العامة للمواصفات والمقاييس إصدار اللوائح وتشريعات تحدد بموجبها المتطلبات المترولوجية وأحكام الرقابة والتحقق من العبوات المعبأة مسبقا والمعروضة للبيع ، فقد تم أعداد هذه اللائحة التي تهدف الى تحديد المتطلبات الواجب تحقيقها في العبوات المعبأة مسبقا في جميع مستويات التوزيع بما فيها نقطة التعبئة والاستيراد والتوزيع والبيع بالمفرق والجملة وفي أي مكان تكون معروضة فيه للبيع أو مباعة .
