أشرف الأمين العام للمجلس على تطوير أول استراتيجية سكانية وطنية تشمل مستهدفات محددة قابلة للقياس لمساعدة متخذ القرار على متابعة ملف التركيبة السكانية ، و تأسيس الأمانة العامة للمجلس لدعم تنفيذ الاستراتيجة من خلال استقطاب كفاءات وطنية متميزة وتأسيس نظام احصائي وقواعد بيانات شاملة. تميزت الاستراتيجية السكانية الوطنية برؤية مستقبيلة واستشراف للمستقبل حيث وضعت بأهداف طويلة المدى حتى عام 2030 وبالموائمة مع رؤية الإمارات 2021 وخطة إمارة أبوظبي وإمارة دبي 2030 والمحليات الأخرى في الدولة . حيث تنطلق أهداف الاستراتيجية السكانية الوطنية وأعمال المجلس الاتحادي للتركيبة السكانية على وجه الخصوص من الرغبة في تحقيق التوازن السكاني المنشود بطريقة تحفظ مصالح كافة الأطراف وتمكين المواطن الإماراتي على كافة الأصعدة وفي كافة المجالات وضمان الحياة الكريمة المستدامة له ودعم متخذي القرار بالمعلومات والتوصيات المتعلقة بقضايا التركيبة السكانية. حيث تم رفع واعتماد الاستراتيجية السكانية الوطنية ، وإنشاء الأمانة العامة للمجلس الاتحادي للتركيبة السكانية وصدور عدد من قرارات مجلس الوزراء يتم متابعتها بشكل دوري تتضمن عدد من التوصيات التي تم رفعها كما تم التوجيه ببناء نظام إحصائي متكامل للبيانات الديموغرافية في الدولة .
